JoKer =|twp|= Q: What do you do for a living, besides make awesome Rogue Spear mods?
GravediGGa
=|twp|= A: First off, let me say I live in South Carolina and I have had several jobs, ranging from
tech support for an ISP to working in a TV studio on a local TV show. Here in my hometown there is a
local newscast that I do camera work and video editing for. I also do web pages, logos, and other graphics
for local businesses. Currently I plan on moving out of this town ASAP so I can get a better job, because
this area is sparse when it comes to computer jobs.
JoKer =|twp=| Q: What interests you the
most about Rogue Spear?
GravediGGA =|twp|= A: The most interesting thing about RS in my opinion
is the gameplay. Almost all FPS's (first person shooters) are run like hell kinda games. RS forces the
player to think much harder than most other games. I like the realistic gameplay and teamplay. No other
game currently out has better teamplay then RS.
JoKer =|twp|= Q: How is the new website and
the people from Gamespy treating you?
GravediGGa =|twp|= A: The new website has been great.
They give me all kinds of stuff, and I think the download centers are awesome. I really haven't talked
to anyone from my hosted site except SpyTech, who has been more than helpful. Their servers have been
experiencing problems lately and are currently being replaced with better, faster stuff, however this
has been eating away at my site, since it is up and down all the time.
JoKer =|twp|= Q: Alot
of people want to know your secrets to re-texturing. What software do you use and when can we expect
a tutorial on re-texturing?
GravediGGa =|twp|= A: I use Adobe Photoshop 5 and Wacom ArtZ II
6x8 graphics tablet. The tablet allows me to draw things much more intuitively, since I have been studying
freehand art since I was eight years old. I know alot about texturing from an old job I had at Positron
in Omaha, NE. (http://www.3dgraphics.com/) They make Tru-TV, an awesome texture mapping program for
use with 3D Studio MAX and Lightwave. My job was to demo the product and show off its features. I learned
so much about texture mapping while I was there. I do have a texture tutorial in the works, as well as
two other new ones and an update basic tutorial with pics to help explain things easier.
JoKer
=|twp|= Q: What mods, other than your own, do you recommend for people to use?
GravediGGa =|twp|=
A: I like the MKT maps, the PDS maps, and anything by =|twp|= members, hehe. I really haven't been
downloading many mods lately due to my own work habits. I have been so busy with my website and mapslately
that I haven't had alot of time to play the game. So I have decided to kinda slow it down and take more
time to play with my buds in The Wolf Pack. Don't get me wrong, there will be plenty of new stuff coming
out.
JoKer =|twp|= Q: How come you don't play in ladder matches being as good as you are?
GravediGGa =|twp=| A: I don't play ladder because 1) in my opinion, there are very few people at the
top of the ladder who have any real skill/morals, and 2) nobody will play me anyway. I don't think of
myself as a cocky person, but it seems like everyone I try to play is scared to lose their rank to me.
Until I see someone with some balls on the ladder, I have no respect for the entire thing. I have been
to the ladder rooms on the Zoneso many times just to be put off by everyone there to the sound of "Get
ranked first!" How can I get ranked if everyone is scared to play me 1 on 1? Even if I did get ranked,
it wouldn't matter, because of the cowardly style of gameplay the guys at the top use. I am not about
to stoop so low as to hide like a bitch the entire match (Hardcore Camping) just to protect my rank.
If you have to camp like a child to win, you don't deserve that rank.
JoKer =|twp|= Q: What
revisions do you think the people at Red Storm should make to Rogue Spear and the infamous RSEditor to
make the gameplay even better?
GravediGGa =|twp|= A: I think they should first and foremost
get off their butts and make a 3D Studio MAX plug-in public. I see games like Hlf-Life that have full
SDK's (software developing kits) and tens of thousands of people playing it daily. Hundreds of teams
of people work on Half-Life mods daily, yet Rogue Spear is piss poor when it comes to this. Half-Life
you can make guns, characters, maps, vehicles, and new gameplay programming ALL FROM SCRATCH! Rogue Spear
you can make guns and re-texture maps. That is sad. Adding a SDK would greatly increase the fun that
online gaming brings in Rogue Spear. Imagine some of the new maps we could be playing right now, FREE
OF CHARGE, if Redstorm added this. Something small I would like to see added is more MSO objects for
server-side mapping. I wish they would release pack of new objects that could be used by all players
to further add to the list of items. Also, it would be damn nice if they would make it so you could have
objects climable and bulletproff. If you could make stairs and ladders, make MSO objects you could stand
on, people could make some AMAZING maps, the ideas are endless.
This question has absolutely nothing
to do with Rogue Spear, but I thought everybody should know.
JoKer =|twp|= Q: What is your
favorite beer?
GravediGGa =|twp|= A: I like New Castle and Bud Light. Bud Light = Cheap
beer night New Castle = I got girls over. Honorable mention: Sammy Smith's, Samuel Adams, Hooch
and a couple other good ones, but I tend to forget their names if they're good enough...
